SheReadsTruth has started something new this week and they are calling it #SheSharesTruth where we the readers are being called upon to share our many different views. Each week we will be given some scripture to study and then on Friday we will all share our thoughts and insights. I have so enjoyed being a part of the SheReadsTruth community of sisters building each other up and growing in our faith! Now I want to be able to put something back in because I have gotten so much out of it. So with no further a due I give you my first attempt at...
This weeks scripture was Psalm 130.
I think this scripture can speak to everyone because it begins "Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord". We have all been there we have all had despair, we have all had the lows that feel like rock bottom, we have had times when we just did not feel worthy. Then the Psalmist writes " Lord, hear my voice; let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications." If we can follow his advice in these times... When nothing and no one can help call out to God. He will hear you! He will answer your prayers (not always the way we want or when we want). If we can use the trouble of life to bring us closer to God then they are all well worth it!
"If thou, Lord shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand" If God was keep score we would never be able to approach Him with our sin-stained hearts. "But there is forgiveness with thee..." Thank you Lord for true forgiveness! Thank you for hearing us crying out from the depths of sin and lifting us out and never looking back. Lord it is my prayer that you will let us forgive others the way that you have forgiven us Lord. Forgive in a way that past iniquities no longer linger, but are completely wiped from our minds.
Because you are so great God and because you have used our despair and troubles to bring us closer to you... Lord we praise you! "My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning" and this Psalmist really meant it because then he repeats "I say, more than they that watch for the morning." When we can truly embrace this we are saying that we are longing for you, Lord more than anything. We long for you more than the sun. God we long for you! If You let us wake in the morning our souls will long for you before coffee! haha (our bodies might feel differently)
